Functional Blood Chem Interpreter

Functional Blood Chem Interpreter

A personal reference & lab-interpretation tool built from Sammy Jo Lacy's Wholistic Health Academy blood chemistry course transcripts. Educational tool only — not diagnostic software. See the About tab for scope and sourcing.

Educational tool, not a diagnosis. This mirrors the Safety Scan → Pattern Recognition workflow taught in the course. Always run the Safety Scan first. Findings here are for your own clinical reasoning as an NTP — apply scope-safe language with clients and refer out per the thresholds below when triggered. File uploads are parsed entirely in your browser — nothing is sent anywhere.

1. Add lab values

Upload a PDF or CSV export of a lab panel, or add markers one at a time. Uploaded files are read locally in your browser (nothing leaves your computer). Extraction is best-effort — always review the detected marker/value pairs below before adding them.

Or add one manually:

What this is

This tool was built entirely from the 29 course transcript documents in Sammy Jo Lacy's "Blood Chem Professional Development" project — the Wholistic Health Academy (WHA) functional blood chemistry course taught by Michael Rutherford, FBCS, FNTP. It works the same way as the course's referenced "BloodChem Studio" concept: comparing entered lab values against functional (optimal) ranges rather than only the wider conventional lab ranges, then surfacing named patterns/cascades taught in the course for further review.

Nothing in this tool comes from outside medical sources. Every range, threshold, and pattern description is drawn directly from the transcripts. Where the course materials didn't give a numeric range for a marker, this tool says so explicitly rather than filling the gap.

Scope & safety

This is an educational reference tool for your own study and clinical reasoning as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. It is not diagnostic software, does not replace clinical judgment, and does not replace the scope-safe communication framework and referral protocols taught in the course. Always run the Safety Scan first and refer out immediately when a red-flag threshold is triggered.

Known discrepancies in the source materials

The course's own slide decks aren't always numerically consistent with each other across lessons. Rather than silently picking one number, this tool preserves both versions where they conflict:

  • TSH functional range: given as both 1.0–2.0 and 1.0–2.5 mIU/L in different lessons.
  • A:G Ratio functional range: given as both 1.4–2.0 and 1.4–2.2.
  • Globulin conventional range: given as both 2.3–3.4 g/dL and 1.5–4.5 g/dL.
  • Fasting Insulin functional ceiling: given as both 2–6 and 2–5 µIU/mL.
  • Insulin Resistance Spectrum stage boundaries: two different numeric tables appear across lessons — both preserved as separate pattern entries.
  • Retest interval for Tier 1/2 markers: stated as both "8–12 weeks" and "6–12 weeks."
